Those hours in the gym, in the after school program can be flexible. MEN, you are able to put your hearts and minds together, and strategize, as to what best fits into your schedules. There are more than 300 corners in South Shore, Brothers; “QUITTING” is not an option. “Corner prayer” has “eternal consequences.” Not only are you building a relationship with God for oneself, you are interceding for others. “Although a spiritual battle between good and evil is constantly going on around us, it’s easy to neglect giving it our attention, since the spiritual forces at work in it are usually invisible. Angels and demons are no less real than other people are, however, and their impact on us is significant.”
Together MEN are taking a STAND against the enemy, every time we gather to pray. These hours are also flexible, and so are the corners on which you gather to pray. Please don’t quit! Those who walk in God’s way are divinely protected, provided for, and satisfied [Psalms 81:13-16]. “Be not weary in well doing, for in due season, you shall reap if you faint not” Galatians 6:9]. Continue to encourage and edify ‘one another.’ We are all sacrificing our homes and immediate families, to the glory of God….”Obedience is better than sacrifice” [1 Samuel 15:22].
“Block Clubs are making a difference in South Shore. If you are inclined to join a block club or start a block; the Alderman is at your disposal. This affords neighborhood residents, the opportunity to ‘dialogue,’ fellowship, while also strategizing on how to best deal with neighbors who may be the cause of unhealthy and unsafe activities, affecting their neighbors and their safety, and the integrity of their homes.
One of our greatest ‘praise reports’ is on the effectiveness of ‘creating jobs in the community, while providing free transportation to the MEN, while they are “earning $10.00 per hour for their, much needed services. The “community cleaning crew” is growing. This is “good news”. CBC is ‘facilitating the “dignity of work,” while demonstrating “The Church has left the building.” Last, and certainly not least, let us continue to sacrifice contributions into the ‘second offering’ on Sunday’s to pay our “community cleanup crew.” This is working. To God be the glory, as we give to please God and for kingdom building. We are consistently showing “how much we care.”
Real Men Read
“Real Men Read” focuses on improving the literacy skills of students which are at the foundation of education. The program also encourages and motivates students to enjoy the gift of reading. In fact, building strong literacy skills during this time is crucial to a child’s future school success.
On behalf of the Coach and Pastor of CBC, Dr. James Ford Jr., I thank you again for sacrificing time away from your family, your personal time of solitude, or your social hour, to come together to make this community safer by being “light and salt” that the Bible commands us to be, as saints. Our collective obedience is making a difference in South Shore. “Stay on the Wall Brothers.” “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” [1 Corinthians 15:58]. Collectively, we are “on PURPOSE.” We Are Glorifying God by:
Exalting the Savior
Edifying the Saints
Evangelizing the Sinner
Enriching the Society.
