What Lies Are You Believing About Christ?
Many of us believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, yet still live under the weight of lies—lies we’ve told ourselves, accepted from culture, or inherited from false religion. This Resurrection Sunday message challenges us to confront the deceptions that distort not only our view of ourselves but our view of Christ.
In Matthew 28:11–15, we encounter the first anti-gospel narrative: a lie deliberately crafted to cover up the most important truth in history—that Jesus is risen. But this sermon isn’t just about the lies of the guards and elders. It’s about the lies we still choose today to maintain comfort, control, and convenience.
Pastor Steve walks us through how spiritual deception often begins with self-deception, how Satan uses systems to distort truth, and how even religious voices can spread lies when Christ threatens their control. But he doesn’t stop there—he calls us back to the truth: Christ is not dead. He is risen. And if He’s alive, then everything He said is true.
This is a message for anyone who has wrestled with doubt, who’s delayed surrender, or who’s believed the lie that Jesus doesn’t need to be Lord over every area of life. It’s a wake-up call to trade deception for deliverance—and to respond to the risen Savior with full belief and bold commitment to His Church.
