Who are You LORD? Part 2

Jan 19, 2025    Pastor Steven Pettis Jr

In Acts 9:1-6, we continue exploring Saul’s dramatic encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. This transformative moment reveals the depth of God’s grace and the power of His truth. Saul’s question, “Who are You, Lord?” exposes a recognition of Jesus’ deity and marks the beginning of his realization that everything he thought he knew was wrong.

This sermon examines how God sovereignly prepares our hearts, interrupts our understanding, and aligns our lives with His truth. As Saul’s world is turned upside down, we see the seeds of the gospel planted by Stephen and other believers come to life, confirming that Jesus is alive and the gospel is God’s truth.

Just as Saul’s encounter revealed his sin and need for salvation, this message challenges us to reflect on our own lives. Are we wrestling with convictions or resisting the truth God is revealing? Have we allowed traditions or pride to blind us to His work?

Through Saul’s story, we’re reminded that God’s call is personal, His light reveals our hearts, and His grace transforms even the most misguided paths. Will you, like Saul, respond to Jesus’ call and embrace His truth? “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”(Hebrews 3:15)
