Weekly Devotion: Trusting the God Who Works on Both Sides

Trusting the God Who Works on Both Sides

Yesterday, we explored how God is always at work on both sides of our prayers. We saw this truth in the story of Saul and Ananias while Saul was praying for direction; God was already preparing Ananias to be the answer.

This challenges us to trust that even when we don’t see movement, God is aligning people, timing, and circumstances for His perfect will. Just as Joseph’s hardship positioned him to save his family, and Cornelius’ prayer led to Peter’s divine appointment, we must remember that God is never working on just one side. He is working on all sides.

Are you waiting on an answer from God? Have you been discouraged by delays or fearful of what God is calling you to do? Be encouraged—His plans are already in motion, and His timing is always perfect.
  1. Trust God’s Process – Even when we don’t see progress, trust that God is at work behind the scenes.
  2. Pray with Expectation – Believe that God hears and answers before we even ask (Isaiah 65:24).
  3. Step Out in Obedience – If God is calling you to act, like Ananias, don’t let fear keep you from obedience.
  4. Let Prayer Be Your First Response – Before reacting to your situation, seek God in prayer.
Prayer This Week

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for working even when I can’t see it. Strengthen my faith to trust Your process and believe that Your timing is perfect. Help me to be obedient like Ananias, even when I am afraid. Remind me that You are aligning people and circumstances for Your glory. Let my first response always be prayer, knowing that You hear me before I even speak. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Final Thought

Waiting is never wasted when God is at work. Just because you can’t see the answer doesn’t mean He isn’t moving. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep obeying—God is working on both sides.
